He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thomas Erwin and Lois Watkins Erwin; his siblings, Wayne Erwin and Joann Failen; and his grandson Andrew Erwin.
He is survived by: his wife Pam Foster Erwin; his children, Josh Erwin (Jessica) of Union, Randall Erwin of Pacolet, Angie Payne (Justin) of Tryon and Amy Dover Prince (Joey) of Union; his stepchildren, Davey Foster (Donna) of Lockhart and Tracey Smith of Lockhart; his siblings, Larry Erwin (Kay) of Boiling Springs, NC, Chris Erwin of Gaffney, Clearie Webb of Gaffney and Martha Revis of Pacolet; and his grandchildren, Nick, Madi, Kullen, Forrest, Gracy, Nate, Justin, Megan, Kyle, Samantha, Dylan of David Lee, J. D., Troy, Peedee, Morgan, Chance and Marina. He is also survived by twenty-four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Blue Branch Baptist Church (1703 Pacolet Hwy, Gaffney, SC 29340).
