She was loved and cherished by many people including: parents: Shelton and Liza McClain; husband: Hazel "Pete" Laney; daughter: Emma Jean Melton (Mack Melton); daughter: Brenda Cassidy (Darrell); son: Franklin Laney (Kathy); brothers: Floyd, Arthur, Hazel, Spofford, and William; sisters: Saddie, Louise, and Thelma Carnes; seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and fifteen great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the Holland Funeral Service (708 W McGregor St, Pageland, SC 29728). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the High Point Church Cemetery (16 High Point Church Rd, Pageland, SC 29728).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Twin Pines Freewill Baptist Church.
