Ernie Ray Evans Obituary

Mr. Ernie Ray Evans, 73, of Pageland, SC passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at Atrium Health in Charlotte, NC while surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Ernie Ray Evans was born on August 13, 1946 in Monroe, NC to the late William "Doss" Harley Evans and Mildred Robinson Evans. He is preceded in death by his brother, Ben Wayne Evans and sisters, Loree Langley, Bonnie Harpe, Harley Mae Demby and Yvonne Strawn, and special friend, Susan Avant. He was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Mr. Evans enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming and especially riding his tractor. He loved to go camping and spending time with his friends. Ernie loved his children and grandchildren and enjoyed telling stories of the past to them.

Mr. Evans is survived by his son, Marty Evans (Sherry) of Pageland, SC, daughter, Amy Evans of Lawton, OK; brothers, Ted Evans, Max Evans (Loree), Coy Evans all of Pageland, and Don Evans of Monroe, NC; his sisters, Jean Rhodes (Paul) of Rutherfordton, NC; grandchildren, Jacob McClain, Dakota Evans (Rubi), Evan Hargett, Dawson Hargett and Isabella Burns.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at Baumgartner Funeral Home, Pageland, SC.

There will be a Celebration of Life Funeral Service at 3:00 on Monday, March 9, 2020 at Almetta Baptist Church in Jefferson, SC with Pastor Corey Joplin officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Pageland, SC.
