She was predeceased by: her parents, H. B. Sowell and Jessie Blakeney Sowell of Pageland; her husband John Amos Arant; her grandson Gregory Lackey; and her son-in-law Owen Cook.

She is survived by: her children, Joan Arant Cook, Judy Arant Lackey (Curt) and John Amos Arant, Jr. (Jane); her grandchildren, Lisa Cook Rees (Taylor), Mark Cook (Sam), Brett Lackey, Becca Lackey Anderson (Dan), Meg Franklin (Kyle) and Will Arant (Regina); and her great grandchildren, Tatum Rees, Christina Rees, Ellie Cook, Myles Cook, Bill Franklin, Agnes Franklin, Margaret Franklin, Isaac Franklin, Jasper Arant and Elisabeth Arant.
