In the vast expanse of eternity, Leroy shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Leroy farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Matthews and Ella Mae Matthews; his son Leroy Matthews, Jr.; and his brother Bubba Matthews. He is survived by: his wife Debra Cooper Matthews; his son Stephen Daniel Matthews of Pamplico; his siblings, Ronnie Matthews (Ella Mae) of Pamplico, Larry Matthews (Cheryl) of Pamplico, Frank Matthews of Pamplico, Dempie Campbell of Pamplico and Carolyn Braddock (Alan) of Florence; and his sisters-in-law, Sarah Sullivan (Bill) of Effingham and Janis Hardee of Gallivants Ferry, SC. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
