He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy "Dot" Runnett Frady and George Herman Frady; and his adoptive parents, Charles Houston and Louise Riggins. He is survived by: his wife Sheryl Basey Houston of Parksville; his children, Josh Houston (Amanda) of Martinez, Kelli Creswell of Greenwood, SC, Brian "Bubba" Basey of Evans and Amber Nicole Beaver (Jonathan) of Evans, Georgia; his siblings, Jerry Houston, Ginger Young, Linda Green, Ramona Colton and George Frady; and his grandchildren, Tyler Houston, Levi Houston, Lauren Creswell, Caroline Creswell, Houston Creswell, Brileigh Basey, Harper Beaver, Charlotte Beaver and McKenna Beaver.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice & Palliative Care of the Piedmont, 408 W Alexander Ave, Greenwood, SC 29646; or to the American Cancer Society, http://www.cancer.org.
