He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Coonie "A. C." and Nita Pankey Griggs; his wife Betty Jo Ratliff Griggs; his sons, Donald T. "Buddy" Griggs, Billy Joe Griggs and Ronald J. "Ronnie" Griggs; his sisters, Frances Bice and Marian Jane Perdue; and his granddaughter Tabitha "Tee Jay" Griggs.
He is survived by: his son William "Bo" Griggs, MD (Debra) of Lake City, SC; and his grandchildren, Ronald J. Griggs, Jr. of Patrick, SC, Betty Griggs of Patrick, SC, Brittany Griggs of Patrick, SC, Jennifer Griggs of Patrick, SC, Leslie Quick, Brad Lajeunesse (Jenny) of Atlanta, GA, April Cockfield of Lake City, SC, Jennifer Stone of Lake City, SC and Berkley Feagin of Lake City, SC. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
The military honors was held on Friday, September 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Patrick Cemetery.
