He was predeceased by: his mother Marcia Adams Tolson; and his grandparents, James Tolson, Sr., Mary Lee Hancock Teal, Mary Dell Adams and Thomas Jefferson Adams.
He is survived by: his father James W. Tolson, Jr.; his wife Elizabeth "Beth" Whisenhunt Tolson; his children, Angel Wilks (Preston), Victoria Purvis, Destiny Purvis and Sophia Purvis; his sister Rose Tolson Jordan (Blake); and his grandchildren, Jackson R. Mcilwraith, Olivia P. Wilks and Willow M. Wilks. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Miller Rivers Caulder Funeral Home (318 E Main St, Chesterfield, SC 29709). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery (8171 Hartsville-Ruby Rd, Patrick, SC 29584). A burial was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at the same location.
