He is survived by: his parents, Rufus Johnson and Nancy Dees Powers; his wife Renee Gainey; his children, Austin Johnson, Paige Johnson (Jonathan) and Payne Johnson; his brother Stacy Johnson (DeeDee); his grandchildren, Payden Johnson, Bentley Blake, Bayleigh Blake, Audrey Johnson Dominy, Ainsley Johnson and Cameron Jackson; his aunts, Virginia "Jenny", Clarice, Barbara "Bobbie", Patricia "Patsy", Jane and Betty; his close friends, Dennis Hartley, Tom Sumner, Buddy Hill, Brandon and Jeremy; his mother-in-law Linda Ham; his brother-in-law Tommy O'Neal; his niece Tori Johnson; and his nephews, Lee O'Neal (Danielle), Travis O'Neal and Kayne Gainey.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Belk Funeral Home (229 W Broad St, Darlington, SC 29532). A memorial gathering was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 4:45 PM to 5:00 PM at the same location.
