He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse M. Johnson and Kathrine H. Johnson; his brothers, John B. Johnson, Travis M. Johnson and Harold S. Johnson; and his daughter-in-law Susan Whiteside Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Ella Jane Carter Johnson; his children, William "Bill" Johnson of Greenville, SC, Gregg Carter Johnson (Cheryl) of Kings Mountain, NC, Reggie Alan Johnson (Leslie) of Moore, SC and April Johnson Smith (Mark) of Thomasville, NC; and his grandchildren, William "Chris" Johnson (Kara), Lauren B. Thompson (Will), Joshua R. Johnson (Arianna), Sarah J. Flowers (Johnathan), Heather E. Johnson, Mikayla J. Maddox (Will), Jesse M. Johnson, Mary-Carter Johnson, Markus D. Smith, Mitchell C. Smith, Dawson B. Smith and Preston W. Smith. He is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
