He was predeceased by: his parents, Alice Bernice Spencer Stafford and John Horace Stafford; his brother John "Budgie" Stafford; and his sisters-in-law, Brenda Stafford and Marilyn Stafford.
He is survived by: his wife Jan Stafford; his daughters, Sherry Broeker (Chad), Brandy Bouch (Tobey), Jamie Johns (Darrell) and Laura Erskine (Tony); and his siblings, Barbara June Newnam (Bob) and Jeff Stafford. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
