He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Hunter Eddy, Sr. and Fannie Towles Eddy Templeton; and his siblings, Francis Eddy Gaddis, Nell Eddy Lamar, Ralph "Cotton" Eddy, Joseph Eddy, Frank Eddy, Davis Eddy, Allen Eddy, Andrew Eddy and Louise Eddy Battle.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce McBride Eddy; his sons, Nelson Eddy (Patricia), Hunter Eddy (Andria), Scott Eddy (Leigh) and Kent Eddy (Andrea); his grandchildren, Christopher Eddy (Kaelyn), Cayla Long (Alex), Joseph Eddy, Davis Eddy, Sarah Eddy, Lora Gahagan Reeves (Chandler), Ora Parker Eddy, Anna Carmel (Mason), Lillian Blaylock (Grant), Libby Eddy, Caroline Eddy, Maggie Eddy, Mary Russell Eddy, Jacob Eddy, William Lemire, Ben Eddy and Anna Claire Lemire; his great grandchildren, Crossley Long, Ava Eddy, Mary Elizabeth Long, Halsey Eddy, Amelia Long, Bentley Carmel and William Eddy; his sister Susan Eddy Holley; his nephews, Steve Eddy, John Ivester, Robert Lamar, Mike Corwon, Kirk Sherrill, Roy Cooner, Greg McBride, Kevin McBride and Phillip James; Christopher Hunter Eddy, Joseph Nelson Eddy, Davis Woods Eddy, Jacob Towles Eddy, William Michael Lemire and Benjamin Jessen Eddy.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM at the Blyth Funeral Home (1425 Montague Ave Ext, Greenwood, SC 29649). A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 28th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the St. Paul United Methodist Church (301 Cambridge St N, Ninety Six, SC 29666).
