It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gladys S. Henzler (Pelion, South Carolina), who passed away on June 7, 2021, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Herschel Shealy and Mary Wise Shealy; her significant other Richard Henzler; her son Wallace; her brother Harold; her sister-in-law Frances Shealy; her sister Vivian; and her brother-in-law Norris Hayes.

She is survived by: her daughters, Evelyn Shumpert (Stanley) and Marie Whitworth (Ken); and her grandchildren, Arlinda Riley (Robert), Marilyn Black (Rivers), Miranda Orso (Jimmy), Travis Henzler (Jennifer), Justin Henzler (Kate), Kirk Whitworth (Beth) and Rich Whitworth (Anna). She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to New Hope Baptist Church in Pelion, South Carolina.
