It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Laurie Ella Lemus of Pelion, South Carolina, born in Newberry, South Carolina, who passed away on October 8, 2025, at the age of 55, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Martin Smith and Clara Smith. She is survived by: her husband Fernando Lemus; her sons, Alex Lemus and Daniel Lemus; her siblings, Keith Smith, Kent Smith, Marty Hawes, Jamie Smith and Teresa Coleman; and her grandchildren, Delta Lemus, Tyler Lemus, Clementine Lemus and Finley Kanipe.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the West Creek Baptist Church (400 Church Rd, Batesburg, SC 29006).
