It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Tommy Chavis of Pelion, South Carolina, who passed away on December 19, 2025, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Chavis and Mary Williams Chavis; his wife Bertha Louise Chavis; and his siblings, LT Chavis, Jackie Chavis, Larry Chavis, Ralph, Billy Chavis, Betty Sue Quarles and Mary Ellen Huggins.
He is survived by: his sons, Christopher F. Chavis (Angela) and Robert G. Chavis (Jackie); his stepchildren, Valerie Lanier and Henry Lanier; and his siblings, Richard Chavis, Bruce Chavis, Eddie Chavis and Jackie Hoover. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; and multiple great-grandchildren.
