She was predeceased by: her spouse Twightman Joseph Mahaffey; and her parents, Leroy Fredrick Conway and Leola Brimm Conway. She is survived by: her children, Loraine Smith Davis (Milton, Sr.) of Gilbert, SC, Tanya Smith-Brice of Lacey, WA, Michael D. Smith (Regina) of Charlotte, NC, Stoney Edgar Smith (Bridgette) of Simpsonville, SC and Samuel L. Smith, Jr. (Maria) of Greenville, SC; her sisters, Annie Lee Hailstock (Billy) of Greenville, SC, Adele Woodberry (Roland) of Tallahassee, FL and Delores Marie Chavis of Tallahassee, FL; and her siblings-in-law, Mary Sailor Conway of Quincy, FL and Elmer Bryant of Queens, NY.
