It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Minnie Holcombe of Pendleton, South Carolina, who passed away on May 20, 2026, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Lee and Mary Elizabeth King Ables; her husband Marion C. Holcombe; and her siblings, James Robert "Bobby" Ables, Jerry W. Ables and Elizabeth Ann Ables Patterson.
She is survived by: her sons, Lawrence C. Holcombe of Greenville, SC and Robert W. Holcombe (Nurije); her grandchildren, Dea Elizabeth Holcombe of Pendleton, SC, Dennis Robert Holcombe of Pendleton, SC and Dardan Edward Holcombe of Pendleton, SC; her siblings, Charles D. Ables (Janet) of Delaware, Edward C. Ables (Janice) of Pendleton, SC and Velma Louise Ables Moore of Anderson, SC; and her siblings-in-law, Kathryn Long Ables Conoy of Pendleton and Wilton G. Patterson of Pendleton. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 25th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Calvary Baptist Church (8008 Liberty Hwy, Liberty, SC 29657).
However, she always felt that her most important achievement in life was to donate a kidney to her big brother, James Robert "Bobby", which allowed him to have additional years of life.
