He was predeceased by: his parents, William Gene Godfrey, Sr. and Malene Bell Godfrey; his siblings, Belinda Godfrey and William "Bill" Godfrey, Jr.; his granddaughter Lily Scout Godfrey; and his father-in-law Rev. Wallace Ruff.

He is survived by: his wife Jan Godfrey; his children, Barney Wade Godfrey, Jr. (Sunshine), Jay Godfrey (Sarah), Lydia A. Buchanan (Chip) and Michael Timmons (Callie); his grandchildren, Olivia O-Rafferty (Trent), Silas, Anabel, Ivy, Shepherd, Max, Kahlan of Round's Indy and Rickey Buchanan III; his siblings, Sandy Osburn, John A. Godfrey, Frank S. Godfrey and Stan R. Godfrey; his mother-in-law Renitia Ruff; and his sisters-in-law, Lydia M. Cameron (Randy) and Marie Godfrey.
