He was predeceased by : his parents, Thomas Wade Smith and Robbie Jean Crowe Smith; his parents-in-law, Eugene Looper and Essie Looper; and his brother-in-law Sam Hughes.

He is survived by : his wife Nancy Looper Smith; his children, Jacob Wade Smith (Briana) of Pickens and Jeana Smith Howard (Justin) of Pickens; his grandchildren, Chase Smith, Alexis Smith, Bentley Taylor, Olivia Howard, Conner Taylor, Jaxon Howard and Paisley Smith; his brother Tommy Smith (Sue) of Pickens; his sister-in-law Cathy Hughes; and his nieces and nephews, Mandy Bryant (Shawn), Samantha Langdale (Rick), Chris Smith (Amy) and Eugene Hughes (Emilie). He is also survived by 4 great-nieces and nephews.
