He is survived by: his wife Mary Beegle Beard; his children, Dawn Beard Showalter of Liberty and Douglas Beard (Lindsay) of Anderson; his grandchildren, Adam Richards, Hayley Craft (Blake) and Bryson Beard; and his sister Irene Horner.
