It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elijah Theo Hayes of Pickens, South Carolina, who passed away on May 15, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Rev. Earsy Millo; and his brother Cleo Hayes. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Simmons Hayes of Pickens; his children, Rev. Richard T. Hayes (Amy) of Pickens, Susan H. Grant (Rick) of Pickens and Reggie Hayes (Machelle) of Tega Cay, SC; his grandchildren, Mary Beth Leon (Diego), Andrew Hayes (Kristen), Greta Hunter (Matt), Josh Grant (Heather) and Lesley Williams (Brad); his great grandchildren, Henry, Oliver, Zavier, Madison, Cade and Blake; his siblings, Bobbie Turner, Marvin Hayes (Margaret) and Arthur Hayes (Brenda); and his sister-in-law Dot Hayes of Easley.
