He is survived by: his wife Lee Christine Moss Alward of Pickens; his children, Holly Alward Melton (Mike) of Greenville and Ashley Alward Utsey (Josh) of Beaufort, SC; his grandchildren, Mary Evelyn, Lizzy, Caroline, Michael Melton, Will, Ben and Ellis Grace Utsey; his sisters, Marilyn Flowers of Rock Hill and Leah Curtis of Syracuse, Indiana; and his half-sister Carol Hill (Parks) of Greenville.
