He was predeceased by: his grandparents, John, Viola Ford of Clemson, Henry and Naomi Brooks of Columbia; and his brother Jeremy James Brooks.

He is survived by: his parents, Martha Ford Brooks of Liberty and James Henry Brooks (Kay) of Blue Ridge; and his daughter Anna Ryleigh Kate Martin. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jacob's honor can be made to the Pickens County Humane Society, 500 Five Forks Rd, Liberty SC or to Pickens Presbyterian Church, 311 W. Main St, Pickens, SC 29671.
