He is survived by: his wife Frances Hodges Smith; his children, Allen Smith of Walhalla and Cathy Patterson of Pickens; his stepchildren, Rex Chappell of Sunset, Tina Alexander (Morris) of Sunset and Henry Chappell (Lori) of Sunset; his grandchildren, Mathew and Shyanne Patterson; his stepgrandchildren, Andrew Alexander, Toni Holliday, Teddi Alexander, Anni Alexander, Stephanie O'shields and Carson Chappell; his great grandchildren, Chevelle, Clot Holliday, Zachary Alexander and Terra Staton; his siblings, Doris Smith of Westminster, Jack Smith of Westminster and James Smith of Easley; and his former wife Alma Jean Smith.
