He was predeceased by: his mother Ann Cox; his nephew Dakota Cox; and his close friend Wanda Sutherland. He is survived by: his grandchildren, Matthew Franklin, Kaitlyn Cox, Aubrey Cox, Cayden Buchanan and Carmen Rosa; his children, Valarie Buchanan (Raul Rosa), Joshua Cox (Shannon) and Zachary Mauldin (Jenny); his father T. J. "Bud" Cox; and his siblings, John Cox (Mary), Danny Cox, Steve Cox and Lisa Gilstrap. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
