With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Melba Nichols of Pickens, South Carolina, who passed away on August 10, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Laura Childs and Norman Childs; and her sister Brenda Bryant. She is survived by: her husband Harold Nichols; her daughter Janet Tedford (Joey); her grandchildren, Chris Byers (Kim), Starla Reid (Tony) and Nicole Tedford (Cassie); and her great grandchildren, Dalton Byers and Chase Byers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Melba's beloved lifelong church, Griffin Baptist Church.
