He was predeceased by: his parents, Erastus Leroy and Gladys Evelyn Brennan Dawkins; his granddaughter Isabella Wade; and his siblings, Ernest, J. T., Kenneth Dawkins, Doris Mills and Mae Dawkins.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Franklin Dawkins; his daughters, Glenda Shuler (Baron) of Marietta, Janet Wade of Rossville and Susan Herring of Rome, Georgia; his grandchildren, Jessica Shearer (Steve), Zach Shuler (Tyler), Winston Herring (Candie), Spencer Herring, Jackson Wade and Gracie Wade; his great grandchildren, Grady, Paige, Grant, Tessa Shuler, Ella and Ethan Shearer; and his sisters, Barbara Amick of Ware Shoals, SC and Mary Helen Ward of Laurens, SC..
