It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shelby Herron (Pickens, South Carolina), born in Anderson, South Carolina, who passed away on January 14, 2021, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Willis Guy Chastain and Annie Eunice Gillespie Chastain. She is survived by: her sons, Billy Herron and Danny Herron; her siblings, Sonny Chastain, James Larry Chastain and Annie Ruth Chastain; her grandchildren, Kaitlyn Elaine Whitaker, Madison Danielle Herron and Jonathan William Herron; and her great grandchildren, Jase Alan Whitaker and Jaxson Clyde Whitaker.

Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Easley Bible Methodist Church, 855 Gentry Memorial Highway, Pickens, SC 29640.

“I did not know that my dear, dear friend Shelby had passed. I was still sending Christmas and Birthday cards, as I always did. I am so heartbroken. I do know this....she knew how much I loved her and valued her friendship. I wasn't aware of a lot during the Covid period, so maybe that's why it got past me. I am so terribly sorry and I grieve for those of us who loved her so much, but I rejoice that she is with her Savior whom she loved dearly. Susan Vickous and family”
