Steve A Walker Obituary
Steve A. Walker, Sr., 68 of Pickens, SC went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on December 22, 2021, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Steve attended Tabernacle Bible College, where he became an Ordained Minister. Steve worked in the manufacturing industry in electrical/maintenance for most of his career.
Steve enjoyed spending most of his time outdoors. You would often find Steve at Lake Keowee and Sliding Rock or on his porch listening to music and enjoying life to the fullest. Steve also loved his “fur baby”, Yogi. Yogi provided much love and comfort to Steve.
Steve is survived by his wife and best friend of 18 years, Martha Walker. He was the proud father of three children, Anthony (Jan Campbell) Walker of Travelers Rest, SC; Lacy (Michael) Vega of Mesa, AZ: Chance (James Allen) Walker of Travelers Rest, SC; two stepchildren, David (John) Sentell of Chicago, IL; Kristy Sentell of Pickens, SC. Steve is also survived by 8 grandchildren.
Steve was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is predeceased by his father, J.C. Walker, mother Yvonne Frady and two brothers, Dale Walker and Marty Caldwell.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Slater Baptist Church, 113 Whitney Street, Slater, SC 29683. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed a service at 2:00 p.m.
