She was predeceased by : her husband Charles William Melton; her parents, Joseph S. A. and Sallie Mize Brooks; her son Billy Stone; her grandson Michael Flores; her siblings, Archie Brooks, Junior Brooks, Shirley Brooks and Mary Ann Chambers; and her husband Joseph S. A. BrooksFather.

She is survived by : her children, Joe Stone (Pam), Donna Turner, Faye Jolley (Phil) and Sheila Barton; her brother Herman Brooks; and her granddaughter Brandy McGill. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
