He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ann Breon McCollum; his sons, John McCollum (Cindi) of Pickens and Eric McCollum (Kimberly) of Pickens; his grandchildren, Emily Dawkins (Favio), Samantha Westbrook (Christian), Savannah Youngblood (Austin), Eric-Adam McCollum (Waverly) and Ethan-Alan McCollum; his great grandchildren, Gemma and Aiden Dawkins; and his sister Sandra Bowers of Alabama.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Red Hill Baptist Church.
