She was predeceased by: her former husband George Chappell, Sr.; her husband Kent Ryder; her children, Larry Chappell, George Chappell, Jr. and Norma Lynn Chappell; her great grandchild Aaron Chappell; her son-in-law Billy Carpenter; and her parents, Andy Gill and Minnie Gill.

She is survived by: her children, Ronnie Chappell, Sr. (Glenda), Timothy Ryder (Laura), Renee Carpenter, Carolyn Thompson (Barry) and Juanita Proffitt (Robbie, Sr.). She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
