She was loved and cherished by many people including : her parents, Hobert J. Carter and Mary Emma Carter (Jordan); her children, David Carter Shaw (Kristie Burr) and Jennifer Maxine Shaw (Kevin Comtois); the father of her children Earl D. Shaw; her siblings, Maxine Rhodes, Tina Dietrich, Nelson Carter (Connie), Debbie Suwa (Akira), Kay Sandbrook Jordan (Bruce) and Stanley Carter (Charlotte); her brothers-in-law, Robert Rhodes and Lee Dietrich; and also Al Jordan. She was also cherished by many nieces and nephews, a large extended family, and many wonderful friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Lake Wales Literacy Council, Lake Wales, FL (863) 676-5767.
