With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Edward Auten Sr. in Piedmont, South Carolina, born in Rock Hill, South Carolina, who passed away on July 12, 2023 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, James B Auten and Sadie Hawkins Auten. He is survived by : his wife Jo Ann Parker Auten; his sons, Eddie Auten of Rock Hill, Chuck Auten of Moore, SC and Mark Auten of Rock Hill; his siblings, Herbert M Auten (Jean) of Rock Hill, Mary Ruth Oates (Steve) of Rock Hill and Peggy Williams (Jerrell) of Rock Hill; his grandchildren, Jamie Auten, Ashley Allen (Scottie), Amber Bullard (Andrew), Chase Auten (Danielle), Bradley Auten and Katie Floyd; and his great grandchildren, Joshua, Kierstyn, Channing Tinley, Mollie, Ariel, Alexis and Axton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in James Edward Auten's name to Lakewood Baptist Church, Building Fund, 3520 Mount Gallant Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
