He is survived by: his mother Jane Sloan Cooper; his wife Catherine Guess Wheeler; his sons, Wilson James Wheeler, Joseph James Guess Wheeler and John Earl Daniel Wheeler; his stepfather John Hughes Cooper; his brothers, John Daniel Wheeler (Mary), John Townsend Cooper (Liz), Tyler Cooper (Janie), Charles Cooper (Mandy) and Sloan Cooper; and his nieces and nephews, Frances, Henry, Ada, Harriet Wheeler, Elliott Kate, John Reid Cooper, Pope, Wade Cooper and Chloe Cooper. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the trust for Joey's children.
