It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of William Royce Carroll of Piedmont, South Carolina, who passed away on July 10, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Amos Richard Carroll and Cecile Carroll (Simpson); his brother Harry Lee Carroll; and his niece Deborah Carroll Stokes. He is survived by: his wife Gretchen Garbade Carroll of Ridgeland, SC.; his children, Mary Lynn Carroll Sepkowitz (Warren) of Charlotte, NC, Richard Carroll (Jennifer) of Santa Rosa, CA and Lee Carroll (Lee Ann) of Greenville, SC; and his grandchildren, Isabel Sepkowitz, Emma Sepkowitz, Amos Sepkowitz, Royce Carroll (Ally) and Ella Carroll.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home (611 Robert Smalls Pkwy, Beaufort, SC 29906). The military honors will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Beaufort National Cemetery (1601 Boundary St, Beaufort, SC 29902).
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to St. Jude's Hospital or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
