John Arthur Hill Jr. Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John Arthur Hill Jr. (Pinewood, South Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 7, 2025 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Arthur Hill, Sr. and Izora Williams Hill; his former wife Esther Holladay Hill; his son Edward Heath Hill; his siblings, Charles Quincy Williams (Congressional Medal) and Sue Bair; his niece April Bair Martin; his siblings-in-law, Betty Barwick, Barbara Brewer, Johnny "Buck" Geddings, Jr. and Ralph Barwick; and his parents-in-law, Johnny and Pearl Geddings.
He is survived by: his wife Inez Geddings Hill; his children, John Arthur Hill III (Barbara) of Panola and Holly Hill Morris (Darren) of Panola; his grandchildren, Kathryn Hill, Hillary Barnes Hodges (Hunter), Gabby Jones (Lane), Hilton Layton, Drew Hill, Hunter Grace Layton and Hampton Layton; his great grandchildren, Sterling Layton and Heath Hodges; and his siblings-in-law, Faitsie Bair, Wayne Geddings (Lesia), Jeannie Mitchell (Pee Wee), Polly Timmons (Jake), Diane Floyd (H. E.) and Julie Evans (S. K.). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Pinewood Cemetery (13146 Panola Rd, Pinewood, SC 29125).
