He is survived by: his wife Maxine Jarrett Tanner; his children, Corinne Tanner Page, Robert Tanner Jr. and Jarrett Tanner Usry; his son-in-law Floyd; and his grandchildren, Rachael Rogers (David), Jake Page, Tripp Usry (Allie), Mackie U. Neely (Ryan) and William Tanner. He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren.
