He is survived by: his wife Lydia Long Merchant; his children, Phillip Trotter (Kendall) and Ingrid Cassada (Justin); his grandchildren, Andrew Cassada, Aiden Cassada and Nancy Faye Trotter; his sisters, Janice Kneece (Jerry) and Lynn Fulmer (Harold); and his sister-in-law Elaine Long Bailey (Mark). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
