Joan leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Joan’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Joan will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She was predeceased by: her parents, J. D. Cotney and Thelma Bates Cotney. She is survived by: her husband Donald Moss; her sons, David Moss of Prosperity and Dale Moss (Cindy) of Lexington; and her siblings, Patricia McDonald of Prosperity and Rev. Waco Cotney of Prosperity. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery (2503 Bethel Church Rd, Prosperity, SC 29127).
