He was predeceased by: his parents, John Forrest Wheeler, Sr. and Mary Louise Shealy Wheeler; his daughter Brigitte Diane Wheeler; and his sister Elizabeth "Anne" Wheeler Counts. He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Dowd Wheeler; his son Johnny Wheeler; his stepson Allen Williams (Melody); his grandchildren, Austin Wheeler (Anna), Brittany Taylor and Nikki Poag (Tyler); and his stepgrandchildren, Dusty Graham, Daniel Williams, Shane Bowers, Brittany Burris (Derik) and Michaela Williams. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
