He was predeceased by: his father David Shelley, Jr.; and his grandparents, David, Margaret Shelley of Rains, S. C., Marvin and Oralee Lewis of Mullins, S. C..

He is survived by: his mother Shirley Lewis Shelley Lane; his aunt Sybil Shelley; and his stepfather Ralph "Sonny" Lane, Jr. of Mullins. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins along with his two cats.
