It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Albert James Nelson of Ridgeland, South Carolina, born in Newark, New Jersey, who passed away on December 18, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Neptune Nelson and Mary Nelson of Ridgeland; his siblings, Neptune Nelson of Charleston, Jacob Nelson of New York, Beatrice Bailey of Beaufort and Vivian Wise of Lady's Island; his son Tyrone Alexander Nelson; and his grandson Lonnie Black, IV.
He is survived by: his children, Sandra Marie Black of Ceres and Albert Nelson, Jr. (Joyce) of Charlotte. He is also survived by one granddaughter, eight great-grandchildren.
