He was predeceased by: his parents, John Benton and Laura Jablonski Benton; and his siblings, Dorothy Manny (Joseph), Gertrude Natalucci (Nello) and Bernard Benton (Dorothy).
He is survived by: his wife Carol J. Benton; his children, Christy J. Benton (Steve Kleintop) of Chicago and Chad M. Benton (Dawn Benton) of Marietta, Georgia.; and his grandchildren, Jacob C. Benton and Katherine O. Benton.
A Mass was held on Monday, August 10th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church.
