He was predeceased by: his parents, Edith Phillips and James Roland Rhodes; and his brother James Roland Rhodes. He is survived by: his wife Cindy Massey Rhodes; his sons, John Philip Rhodes and Justin Marshall Rhodes (Kimberly); his grandsons, Anthony Konnor Harrell, John Philip "Jack" Rhodes, III and Marshall McGill Rhodes; his brother Thomas Hamilton "Tommy" Rhodes (Ann); and his sister-in-law Melinda McTeer Rhodes. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
