He was predeceased by: his parents, Alex Speaks and Essie Dash Heyward; his son Michael Brandon Speaks; and his sister Betty Grace Millender. He is survived by: his wife Vera Patricia Speaks; his children, Christopher Speaks, Natasha Chisholm and Victoria Speaks; his siblings, Jimmie Mae Jackson (Pastor Richard), Flourine Judy (Roger) of Washington, Loraine Dash, Kenneth Speaks (Evangelist Roshon) and Eddie Otis Dash (Jean); his stepsons, Calvin, Quincy and Michael Quaterman; and his brothers-in-law, Larry Millender and John Earl Burney (Sarah). He is also survived by nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
