He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Malphrus, Sr. and Georgia Annie Malphrus; and his siblings, Oswell "Ossie" Vincent Malphrus and Sarah Elizabeth "Libby" Mears. He is survived by: his wife Jeannine Richardson Malphrus; his children, Aurelia Ann Koschel (Reinhold), Robert McCurdy Malphrus III (Anna) and John Lee Malphrus (Tricia); and his grandchildren, Reagan, Meredith, Preston, Sarah Grace and Parker. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the building funds of Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Hwy, Ridgeland, SC 29936 or Chestnut Baptist Church at 499 Chestnut Ridge Rd, Laurens, SC 29360.
