She was predeceased by: her parents, George Wayne Sawyer, Jr. and Evelyn Davis Sawyer. She is survived by: her husband William Dennis Ely, Jr.; her children, Jacob Ely of Ridgway, SC, Caleb Ely of Ridgway, SC, Luke Ely of Ridgway, SC and Abigail Ely of Ridgway, SC; her sister Beth Sawyer O'Malley (Richard) of Elgin, SC; her uncle Tom Sawyer (Debbie) of Monetta, SC; her aunt Ruth Jordan of Monetta, SC; and her nieces, Andrea and Hannah O'Malley.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Spring Valley Baptist Church (91 Polo Rd, Columbia, SC 29223). A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spring Valley Baptist Church Children's Ministry.
