She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Fisher and Lela Buchanan; her husband Slite S. Braswell; her children, Michael C. Braswell (Linda), Jerry A. (JuJu), Donna G. Braswell and Angela Braswell; and her siblings, Maxine McCarthy (Pat) and Lawrence Fisher (Freda).
She is survived by: her daughter Lela V. Braswell; and her grandchildren, Denisha Holloway (Tyler), Rev. RJ Smith (Brandee), Christina Elkins (Tommy), John Braswell (Chrystal), Tiffany Alexander, Michael Shane Braswell (Flora) and Shannon L. Braswell (Tim). She is also survived by 25 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Mount Carmel Baptist Church (195 Gouges Creek Rd, Spruce Pine, NC 28777). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
