He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Rapp and Dorothy Rapp (Brown); his former wife Wilma Rapp (Hovis); his son Timothy Hovis; his daughter-in-law JoAnne Hovis; and his brother Robert Rapp (Martha).
He is survived by: his wife Karen Pennington; and his children, Cindy Bachmann (Brian) of Farmington, Missouri, Becki Morgenstern (David) of Washington, Illinois, Scott Rapp (Lisa) of Rock Hill, Russell Hovis of Rock Hill, Roger Hovis (Tricia) of Blythewood and Jeremy Blake (Jessica) of Montague. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Christian Church of Rock Hill.
